LOCATION: 5kms from
Cuddalore(కడలూరు); 40 miles from Chidambaram. There are no
facilities here for pilgrims. Aheendrudu is another name for Aadisesha; as he
worshipped Mahavishnu here, this place got the name as Thiru- aheendrapuram and
later was called as Thiruvaheendrpuram.
MOOLAVAR :
Devanaayakan in standing posture east facing with chaturbhujams holding sanku,
Chakra, abhaya hastam and holding another hand on his waist.
THAAYAAR: Vaikuntanaayaki/hemaabjavalli.
THEERTHAM: Sesha
pushkarini/Garuda theertham.
VIMAANAM: Chandra/
sudhdhasatva vimaanam.
STHALAPURAANAM:
Aadisesha once thought of visiting bhoolokam and with Vishnu's permission came
and visited many places and finally came to this place; and
worshipped Mahaa Vishnu by creating his vigraham. Vishnu gave darsan and at his
request stayed here itself. There is a well in this temple and water of this
well is used for abhishekam; devotees pour milk into this well and are satisfied
that they have offered milk naivedyam to perumal. Another story is that in
Tretaayugam while Hanumaan was carrying sanjeevani parvatam, some portion fell
here; Vedaantadesikan came to this hill and Vishnu gave darsan to him as
Hayagriva; he stayed here for over 40 years on this hill called as
aushada giri(ఔషదగిరి). Even now pilgrims may worship Hayagreeva
Perumaal in this hill temple. In 9th and 10th centuries this temple
was constructed. King Gajendra Cholan has devoloped this temple.
GOPURAM: Has five
stories with seven kalasams.
UPAALAYAAS:
Sannidhis of Vinayaka, Sita lakshmana sametha Ramachandra swami,
Rajagopalaswami, GodhaDevi ,Vedaantadesikan, and for Manavaalamahaamuni exist
here.
UTSAVAMS: Every
year in Chittarai month for ten days brahmostavams are held. In Purataasi month
Vedaantadesikan's utsavams are held. Special utsavams are held annually in
Maagha maasam..
Vedaantadesikan's
thirumaaliga(తిరుమాళిగ) and the well dug by him can also be visited
here.

THIRUVAHEENDRAPURAM
AND THIS KSHETRAM ARE THE TWO NADU NAADU DIVYADESAMS. This kshetram is also
called as GOPAALANAGARAM.
LOCATION: 34
kms from Thiruvannaamalai. Pilgrims can touch this centre while travelling from
Pondicherry to Bangalore, or from Chittoor to Trichy via Vellore, or from
Villupuram to Kaatpaadi. There are facilities here abundantly for
pilgrims. This kshetram is one of the PANCHA KRISHNA KSHETRAMS.

PAADAL: Poigai alwaar ,Poodattaalwaar and Thirumangai Alwaar have
sung paasurams here.
STHALA
PURAANAM: On one rainy day at night, Poigai alwaar took shelter
in a very small
room; later, Poodattaalwaar came into this room; after that, Peyaalwaar also
came into that room. The room was so small that one can sleep, two can sit and
three can stand only. When all the three Alwaars were standing, they felt
that an unknown invisible person appears to have entered the room. This made
them to recite Mudall thiruvandaadi, irandaam thiruvandaadi and moonraam
thiruvandaadi. Here Moolavar is seen keeping his left leg on the ground and
raising his right leg above as a Trivikrama holding sankam in right hand and
Chakra in left hand.
UTSAVAMS: In
Meenam, Uttaraa nakshtra theertostavam, in Vrischika maasam/kaikasi Ekaadasi
another UTSAVAMS is held. Vedaanta Desikan has sung DEHALEESA STHUTI(దేహలీశ స్థుతి).

LOCATION:
This temple is in Kaancheepuram city in Chengalpattu district well connected by
road and rail with all facilities for pilgrims.This is on the banks of river
Vegavathi. This is called as THYAAGA MANDAPAM. Srirangam is
Bhogamandapam; Tirumala is Pushpa mandapam; and Melkote is gnaan mandapam.

Varadaraajaswmi ( తేవప్పెరుమాళ్) in a standing posture west facing.also known as
Attiyuran,tevapperumal , and fondly known as Thyagarajan (since he sacrificed
swamy ramanuja to namberumal. )

sitting posture. ఆకారత్రయ సంపన్నా మరవిన్ద నివాసినీమ్ ~ ఆశేష జగదీశిత్రీమ్ వందే వరదవల్లభామ్.
శ్లోకమ్: అయోధ్యా మధురా మయా కాశీ కాంచీ హ్యవంతికా పురీ ద్వారవతీ సప్తైతే మొక్ష దాయికా~ Kancheeluram is one of the 6 muktiprada
Kshetrams; others are Ayodhya, Madhura, Haridwar, Kaasi, Avantika
(Ujjayini), Dwaaravathi(Dwaaraka).
This Perumaal was
worshipped in Krutayugam by Brahma, by Gajendra in TretaYugam, by
Bruhaspati in Dwaapara yugam and by Aadisesha in Kaliyugam.
Aalwaars have
called this kshetram as ATHIYUUR(అత్తియూర్). This
kshetram is prominent for srivaishnavas as RAAMAANUJACHAARYA spent his
entire childhood in this kshetram worshipping Varadaraajaswami daily by
THEERTHA kainkaryams.
It is said that
Perumal appeared here from the yagnakundam of brahma and blessed him with the
punyam of aswamedhayagam. Perumal appeared in various forms and helped
brahma to complete the yagam which was disturbed by saraswati who was
furious.
This Perumal gives
abhayam to devotees. This can be seen in swamy ramanuja’s life history. Perumal
and tayar saves swamy ramanuja from the dense forests of Vindhya and brought
him back to Kancheepuram in just one night . Elders say that Varada has become
varaprada as he drank the waters of salakinaru offered by swamy ramanuja
abundantly there by making him a rain bearing cloud which showers boons on the
devotees.
All the
pirvacharyas along with azhwars have enjoyed varadar like a pot full of
ambrosia.

LOCATION:
This kshetram is in Kaancheepuram and is at a distance of half a kilometre from
Varadaraja Sannidhi. This Sannidhi is almost opposite to sonnavannam seida
Perumal kovil . It is said that when Saraswati tried to disturb brahma’s
yagam they two demons Perumal is said to have appeared as ashtabhuja Perumal
and annihilated those demons. Sri Vedaantha Desikan has sung here ASHTA BHUJA

PURAANAM: as said in earlier episode Saraswati created darkness to stop
brahma performing yagam. To save brahma at his request Perumal stood like a
lamp and showered his glow on the entire world. Vilakku means lamp.
olippu means glow. Here perumal is the dispeller of darkness with indicates
ignorance. As if To prove this point stalwarts like swamy Vedanta desikan took
birth at this place . His avataarakaala thirumeni can be seen here. Sri Lakshmi
Hayagriva worshipped by swamy Desikan may be seen here. Nigamaantha Mahaa
Desikan has sung DEHALEE SATHUTHI. - SARANAAGATHA DEEPIKA (దేహలీశస్థుతి - శరణాగత దీపికా) here.
