THIRUVENGADAM(తిరువేంగడము)/(తిరుమల)(Tirupati) PART 4.
He fixed sankha and
chakra to Perumal on his shoulders. On His chest, srimmahalskhmi made up of
gold was installed by swamy ramanuja on a Friday skuladwadasi in uttaraphalguni
star. Every Friday thirumajanam is performed and during that time, Naachiyaar
tirumozhi is recited to ease Piraatti.
Swamy ramanuja
therefore got the titles srivenkatesa sankhachakra pradayaka and srivenkatesa
swasura.
He had also written
sribhashyam at tirumala and declared Srinivasa as paratattvam in the opening
verse of sribhashyam.
అఖిల భువన జన్మ స్థేమ భంగాదిలీలే
వినత వివిధ భూతవ్రాత రక్షైకదీక్షే
శృతిశిరసి విదీప్తే బ్రహ్మణి శ్రీనివాసే

Is the opening
verse of swamy ramanuja’s sribhashyam.
Swamy ramanuja has
installed Srirama Sita Lakshmana hanuman sugreeva angada idols in the
sanctumsanctorum of Tirumala who approached him from kuruviturai near
Madurai.
He also had
relocated varaha swamy temple and yoga Narasimha Sannidhi at
tirumala.
He also relocated
govindarajaswamy of Chidambaram at the foot of the hills and created Tirupadi Bhagavadraamaanuja
has formalised all the daily nitya kainkaryam and they are being flowed even
now. ( Sri pada puri) town which became Tirupati over a period of time.
He had installed
Sri Andal Sannidhi at govindarajaswamy temple with vyuhalakshmi yantram and
declared her as Sri Goda Lakshmi.
Annathazhwar a
disciple of swamy ramanuja did sincere kainkaryam to Srinivasa as per the order
of swamy ramanuja and earned applause from none other than Srinivasa.
He was the one who
hit Srinivasa who came to help him in the form
Of a helper boy
with a crowbar on his chin. This crowbar is displayed even today in
mahadwaram
He
constructed Sannidhi for swamy ramanuja as per the orders of Srinivasa in the
first prakaram of tirumala temple which is known as vimana prakaram.
Alarmel
mangai thaayaar can also be seen at Thiruchaanoor down the Venkatadri
hill as swatantra veeralaskmi swarupam who as per panchatatra agamam is
independent charge in protecting devotees and granting boons to them even
without consulting Perumal. Here she is worshipped as per pancharatra
agamam.
Sri Prativaadi
Bhayankara Annan, one among the Ashtadiggajams of Sri Manavaalamahaamuni has
sung suprabhaTam, Strotram, Prapatti and Mangalaasasanam at the behest of
swamy manavalamamunigal. Even today these are recited first when the doors of
garbagruha are opened.
Here it is
worth mention that Srinivasa has got no name as balaji. No where in puranam or
agamam it is mentioned that Srinivasa was ever known as balaji.
In fact this name
also cropped up during the regime of Mahanths.
North Indians
address hanuman as balaji ( salasar Rajasthan where hanuman is called
balaji)
In Sanskrit there
is a sutram saying “VA BA yor abhedaha” meaning VA and BA are not different
from each other in usage. This is followed mostly by north Indians. Wherever we
use VA they use BA.
Valam in Sanskrit
which means tail becomes balam. The one with valam is valaji alias
balaji.
Northindians till
recent past did not know about Srinivasa. They used to come from North to visit
japali hanuman which is the birthplace of hanuman. So they call him
balaji.
Mahanths of
hathiramji muth started printing pictures of Srinivasa and propagating about
Srinivasa to the north. They printed the words Srinivasa ( balaji) in Hindi
script below the picture referring to japali teertham. This is how the name
balaji became synonymous with Srinivasa.

varadarajaswamy was considered as main deity
In tretha yugam
sriranganatha took charge as main deity of that yugam
In dwapara yugam it
was tirunarayana of yadavadri who played the role of main deity of that
yugam
In kali yugam
sriinivasa took charge as main deity.
AZHWARPADAL: except
Tondaradippodi Azhwar (for whom only Sriranganatha is Perumal )
And Madhurakavi
Azhwar(for whom his Acharya Nammazhwar is only god ) all the azhwars have sung
about Tirumala.
Swamy Nammazhwar in
his illustrious work Tiruvaimozhi had beautifully did surrender at the lotus
feet of Srinivasa on whose chest Alarmelmangai nachchiyar who is
personification of compassion is seated. He explained her nature so beautifully
so that any one who wants to do saranagati can be confident of being given
saranagati and be assured that she takes care of saranagata not because of the
qualities of saranagata but because it is her nature not to leave any soul
unattended. She is ‘asamkhyeya kalyanaguna gana’personigication of all those
good qualities. And all theMore she never can bear the separation from
Srinivasa. She is ‘agalagillen iraiyyum enrum alarmel mangai ‘.

Nammazhwar
Tiruvaimozhi 6-10-10.
Kulasekharazhwar
had praised Srinivasa in his Perumal tirumozhi and prayed to him to make
him as his door step so that all the devotees can step on him and purify him
and he also can enjoy the darsanam of perumal for ever.
“Padayaay kidandu
un pavalavay kanbene” is the famous verse from his Perumal tirumozhi 4-9.
Tiruppanazhwar in
his famous and only work amalanadippiran opening verse started praising
Srinivasa and then said about sriranganatha.
He says “ viraiyaar
pozhil vengadavan nimalan ninmalan needivanavan”.
Andal in her
Nachiyar tirumozhi prayed to manmatha to unite her with Srinivasa. “
vengadavar kkennai vidikkidiye manmadha” is her verse in Nachiyar
tirumozhi.
వేంకటాద్రి సమమ్ స్థానమ్ బ్రహ్మాండే నాస్తికించన।
వేంకటేశ సమోదేవో నభూతో నభవిష్యతి.।।
DIVYADESAM No.97: SINGAVELKUNRAM(శింగవేల్ కున్ఱమ్~అహోబిలమ్)
శ్లోకము:
తీర్థైరింద్ర సుపాపనాశ నరసింహాఖ్యానకై రంజితే~
లక్ష్మీమ్ ప్రాప్యగుహమ్ విమాన ముపయన్ శ్రీ నారసింహో హరిః
దివ్యేహోబిల పట్టణే విజయతే ప్రాచీదిశాస్యాననో ప్రహ్లాదాక్షిపదమ్ గతః కలిరిపు శ్రీమచ్ఛటారి స్తుతః.
LOCATION: Ahobilam
is 90 kms from Kadapa town(AP) by road to AARLAGADDA TOWN and 25 kms from
there to Ahobilam village in Kurnool district(AP); from Nandyal (this is
between Kurnool and Aarlagadda), it is 45+25 kms by road. All
facilities exist here. A branch of Ahobila Matam is functioning since the
last two years. Those who want to stay here overnight, they may contact Matt's
Manager's mobile No.94905 15284. Vaishnavites are given preference for
stay here.

OTHER DETAILS:
There are nine naarasimha sannidhis here called as నవ నారసింహ క్షేత్రాలు. Mainly, devotees worshiop in lower Ahobilam
temple (దిగువ అహోబిలమ్) and also in upper Ahobilam hill temple(ఎగువ అహోబిలమ్). Apart from these two, there are seven sannidhis on the hill. These
sannidhis are known as:
1) Lakshmi
Narasimham 2) Sattiraanta Narasimham 3) Yoga Narasimham 4) Kaarangi Narasimham
5) Ugra Narasimham 6)Bhaargava Narasimham 7) Parmulidhi Narasimham 8) Varaaha
Narasimham 9) Prahlaada Narasimham. The vertical iron pillar from
which Prahlaada was thrown by Hiranyakasipa's soldiers can also be visited, but
the way through which devotees have to go is through a rough forest pathway
full of thorny bushes; wild animals will be roaming and without an expert
guide, devotees should not venture to go there, more particularly with
children. All these temples are under the control and supervision of Ahobilam
Matt Jeeyar swami. Night stay/visit to the temples(8 in number) on the hill are
not permitted due to presence of wild animals and poisonous snakes.

భాతి శ్రీ సరయూ సరిత్తటే గతే శ్రీ మానయోధ్యాపురే
శ్రీమత్పుష్కల దేవయాన నిలయ సత్యాఖ్య కాసారకే ।
సీతాలింగితమూర్తి రుత్తర ముఖ శ్రీరామనామా హరి~
స్త్వాసీనో భరతాభిర్ముని గణైర్దేవ్యైచ దృష్ట స్సదా।।
పరాంకుశ కలిధ్వంసి కులశేఖర సూరిభిః।

LOCATION:
This kshetram is 10kms from Faizaabaad RS on Benaras-Lucknow railway route. All
facilities exist here. This kshetram is on the banks of River Sarayu which
takes birth from Maanasa Sarovar in Himaalayaas. This is one of the important
Muktipada Kshetrams.b

river. There is a sannidhi for Sri Ranganaatha near the river. South Indian
archakas perform nitya kainkaryam here.
చైత్రేమాసే సితే పక్షే నవమ్యాంచ పునర్వసౌ~
మధ్యాహ్నే కర్కటే లగ్నే రామోజాత స్స్వయంహరిః.
King Dasaratha did
putrakaameshti yaagam here in TretaYugam. In the year 1520, the then
Muslim Ruler Baabar demolished the Rama temple and constructed a Maszid
in that place as he was intollerent towards Hindus. There were clashes between
Hindus and Muslims and the British Rulers settled that Muslims may
worship within the maszid and Hindus may worship outside the maszid. After the
country got independence, a make-shift Rama mandir was constructed. In Dec
1992, the maszid was forcefully demolished by Hindus which resulted in many
religious clashes leading to court cases, which are still dragging on
without any acceptable solution.
Places to be seen
by devotees here are:
1)Hanumaan Ghadi;
2) Rama Chandraalayam called as Ramakot; 3) Kanaka Bhavan believed to
have been constructed by Lord Rama for his stay; Sitarama vigrahams with golden
kireetams and golden simhaasanams may be seen here by devotees.;4) Rajamahal
where Rama was believed to have held his darbaar; 5) Raja gadde- place where
Rama's coronation was performed. 6) Kausalya Bhavan; 7) Rama Antahpuram; 8) Aananda
Bhavan; 9) Kopagruham; 10) Harihara mandir 11) Sarayu mandir 12)
Nageswaramandir 13) Kaalaraama mandir 14) Tulasidaasa matam, where it is
believed that Tulasidas wrote Tulasi Ramaayanam 15) Swargadwar-
where Lord Rama was believed to have done his Avataara samaapthi. 16) Nandigram
village( which is 22 kms from Ayodhya) from where Bharatha, in the absence of
Rama, ruled the country meeting Rama paadukalu 17) Gulabi flower garden - this
is 6 kms from Ayodhya.

CHARLU Vivo Cell: DIVYADESAM No.99: NAIMISAARANYAM(నైమిశారణ్యము)
శ్లోకము:
దివ్య విశ్రాంత తీర్థాఢ్యే నైమిశారణ్య పట్టణే।
పుండరీక లతానాధో దేవరాజహ్వయో హరిః ।।
విమానం శ్రీహరిం ప్రాప్య ప్రాచీ వక్త్ర స్థితి ప్రియః ।
దేవర్షీంద్ర సుధర్మాక్షి ప్రత్యక్షః కలిజిన్నుతః।।.
LOCATION:
This is 35 kms from Saandilaa station on Luknow-Baalaamur railway line. Or,
travel in Kolkataa- Dehradun rail route, get down in Baalaamoor junction, take
train to Sitaapur near Naimisaaranyam Station. From here, three kms away is
this divyadesam. Ahobilamatt and Raamaanujakootam exist here. Naimisaaranyam is
230 kms from Ayodhya(98th divyadesam) and 108 kms from Lucknow by road via
Sidhowli junction. There is a temple for Sri Venkateswara swami here with
facilities for devotees to stay in Naimisaaranyam. South Indian archakas
perform nitya puuja kainkaryam in this devastaanam. There are about dozen rooms
under the control of this temple management just outside the temple praakaaram.
Smt. Maataaji is managing this temple and her contact number is 91-94157 66122.
Many South Indian devotees come to this temple for worship and stay here
overnight.

Aaraadhana is
done to the Swami as Vanaroopi. Perumal worshipped by Aalwaars does not exist
here. This is a swyam vyakta kshetram(స్వయమ్ వ్యక్త క్షేత్రము). There are sannidhis for Vedavyaasa, Suka and
Sootha maharshis.
STHALA PURAANAM:
Once all Maharishi's went to Brahma and requested him to suggest a pious place
suitable for them to perform sathra yaagam; Brahma made a wheel out
of dharbha and threw it and asked them to perform the yaagam at the place where
his dharbha wheel falls. It fell on the banks of Gomathi River.
Vedavyaasa is believed to have written Vedas here and a big banyan tree with a
gadde (గద్దె) can be seen here. This is called as Vyaasa gadde(వ్యాస గద్దె). Here Sootha maharishi narrated all the
ashtaadasa puraanaas(అష్టాదశ పురాణాలు) to all the maharshis.
PLACES TO BE
VISITED:
1) CHAKRA
THEERTHAM(చక్రతీర్థము). Vishnu created this THEERTHAM with his Chakram.
Pilgrims take bath first in Gomathj river and thereafter take bath in this
chakra THEERTHAM.
2) Dasaaswamedha
Ghaat(దశాశ్వవమేధ ఘాట్) on the banks of Gomathi river.
3) Hanuman mandir
4) Paandava khilla, Paandavaas are bieved to have stayed for some years during
their vanavaasam.
5) Sootha Bhagavaan
Mandir where there is Sootha gadde; from here he is believed to have narrated
all puraanaas to muni pungavaas. 6) Vedavyaasa Mandiram, here, Suka maharishi
is believed to have narrated Bhaagavatham in seven days to King Pareekshit.
In Phalguna month,
lakhs of pilgrims perform parikramanam(పరిక్రమణము).

(శాళక్కిఱామం~సాలగ్రామమ్)

గండకీ సరసస్తీరే చంద్ర తీర్థేన శోభితే।
సాలగ్రామ పుర శ్రేష్టే కనకాఖ్య విమానగః।।
శ్రీ మూర్తిదేవ శ్శ్రీదేవ్యా కుబేరోముఖ సంస్థితః|
గండకీగణికా రుద్ర బ్రహ్మణా మక్షిగోచరః
శ్రీ విష్ణుచిత్త కలిజిత్ స్తుతి భూషిత విగ్రహః।।.
LOCATION &
ROUTE:
Journey has to be
done in three stages. 1) by travelling in Indian soil and reach Nepal border.
2) In Nepal, up to Pokharaa pilgrims have to travel either by bus, flight
or by walking. 3) From Pokhraa to Muktinaar, necessarily pilgrims have to walk
the distance of 75.2 kms. At present, from Pokhraa, they may to by flight
or helicopter to Muktinaath; or, from Pokhraa they may go by flight up to
Jhumsam and from this place, walk a distance of 17 kms or go on horses or in
dolies or by tracter or by scooter. They can go by train up to Gorakhpur.
From this place up to Sunoli-India border, about 96 kms. Sunoli is in Nepal
country. From Sunoli, they can go by bus up to Pokhraa. From Pokhraa, they can
reach Muktinaath.
Muktinaath is
Salagramam divysdesam. From Pokhraa, planes and helicopters will be available
for pilgrims. This kshetram is on the banks of Gandaki river(గండకీ నది)

DETAILS:
This is a Swayam
vyaktha kshetram situated in Nepal country and is 175 kms from Khatmandu,
capital of Nepal. But, still there are conflicting views about the location.
Some say that a place called Damodarakundam which is 65 kms from Khatmandu is
actually the DIVYADESAM. This is the birth place of Gandaki river. MOOLAVAR is
made of Saalagraamam stone. Saalagraamams which we worship in our homes
and temples are found in this Gandaki river. These are genuine saalagraamams.
