LOCATION:
This kshetram is 12 kms from Vada Madhurai kshetram on the banks of Yamuna
river.
MOOLAVAR:
Nava Mohana Krishnan in a standing posture east
facing.
THAAYAARS: Rukmini
and Sathyabhaama.
VIMAANAM:
Hemakoota VIMAANAM.
PRATHYAKSHAM: To
Nandagopa.
AALWAAR
PAADAL: Kulasekhara Aalwaar, Periyaalwaar and
Aandaal.
OTHER
DETAILS: Either the temple or the Perumaal worshipped by the
Aalwaars are not in existence now. The existing sannidhis were
constructed later on. About 1 km away is old Gokulam. On the front side of the
temple, pilgrims can see Srikrishna in a cradle, Nandagopa, Yasoda and
Balarama. This is the place where Srikrishna was brought up by Nandagopa and
Yasoda as also the birth place of Balarama born to Rohini w/o Vasudeva. Every
Sunday, Raasakreeda and Jalakreeda utsavaas are held here.
